Title: Ministry of Social Development Speech Recognition Initiative Empowers New Zealanders
The New Zealand Ministry of Social Development (MSD) is the single largest government department in New Zealand. At any one time, MSD provides income and employment support to more than one million New Zealanders.
Handling over 20,000 calls per day in the national call centre, MSD identified the need to find a cost-effective and reliable solution that would enable them to handle routine and repetitive calls more promptly and efficiently.
Salmat implemented the Service Express Natural Language Speech Recognition (NLSR) system for MSD, which has enabled them to run a more efficient call centre with their call centre agents now free to handle more complex enquiries.
